The Beaver Guest Ranch is a registered business in tourism which includes tenure to access crown land for horsebackriding. Guests almost exclusively book vacations directly from our own website. The site has a great page rank and is easily searched for using search engines. We successfully cooperate with several travel agencies in Europe, and have been included in MarcoPolo and DuMont travel guides.

We received an award from holidaycheck.de two years in a row. Clients mainly come from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland which makes our german speaking service a great advantage. More than 60 couples have been married on the lonely island on Deka Lake, on horseback or at a nearby wood chapel. The season lasts from mid-May to mid-October, and revenue is adequate for a family household. The log home was built in 1997 and completed in 2002. It has 5640 square feet and two levels; the guest rooms are located on the lower floor and the upper floor is private, with completely separate entrances. The 2583 square feet guest area includes 4 rooms, 3 baths, a kitchen, as well as a spacious dining and living room area. The private level includes a grand bedroom, grand bathroom (with a whirl tub for 2 people), office space, another washroom and a very open and spacious living and dining room, with 4 large windows and a wood stove. The kitchen includes an island with lots of counter space. In addition, the upper level includes a private suite with its own kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedroom. Two balconies extend out of the upper level, one from the grand bedroom and one from the suite. The house can be heated with electricity, a wood or a pellet stove. Good isolation allows for reduced heating needs. Both levels are equipped with English-and German satellite TV and internet. The house includes several 110 and 220 volt outlets. Highspeed internet and W-Lan is set up. Next to the main house is a sauna and storage room, as well as a 25 kW generator which can be utilized during power outages.
The property is 10 acres, slightly sloped, with an abundance of healthy trees. It includes a well that has been tested on a monthly basis for the business, always with outstanding water quality and quantity. The ranch has its own sewage system, which enlarged in 2005 to accommodate the business. The 2 paddocks, completely fenced fields, shelters, and roundpen make this property suitable for several horses. Behind the property, on the North side, is crown land where a 20-minute trail leads down to Sulphurous Lake.
A 35 minute drive takes you to the closest town called 100 Mile House. The town offers supermarkets, schools, sport facilities, a hospital etc. A school bus system is in place. A small supermarket, gas station and hardware store is located within 15 minutes of the ranch. The next biggest city is Kamloops which is 2 hours away, and Vancouver is a 6 hour drive. Many guests travel through BC on their own and access the ranch via Highway 24 as part of their travels.
